Amazon KDP stands for Kindle Direct Publishing. Despite the name, KDP handles both digital (eBooks and Kindle) and physical books (paperback and hardcover). KDP is the place to go to self-publish your own printed book. If you’ve been around Amazon for a while, you may recognize the service by its old name, CreateSpace. But now everything is run under KDP.
Amazon KDP is a great alternative to traditional publishing methods. KDP is a print-on-demand service. This means your KDP book is not printed until a buyer places an order. This is great news for you as a writer because it means you don’t have to hold or store any inventory.
If you want to self-publish your own book (whether it’s a novel or a journal), you just need to upload all the book information to the KDP Author Dashboard. This means you provide a cover image, internal content, a title and your keywords. After that, Amazon does the rest.
When an order comes in, Amazon will print your actual book and ship it to the customer. They even handle any customer service issues or returns. After that, you get paid in the form of royalty payments!
Yes, you get a royalty and don’t even have to touch your book or the book boxes in your garage. You might even get a lot of sales because Amazon is still the place to buy books. That means your uploaded blank books on Amazon are in front of hundreds of millions of Amazon customers.
Examples Of No Content Books
No (or less) content Selling blank books on Amazon As you can see, you can easily scale using KDP to self-publish your own books. You only need to upload your book once and then you can get multiple sales on it. The time it takes to create and upload the book is your only time investment.
Typically, a low-content book has only a few page layouts that are repeated over and over again. For example, a weekly planner that uses the same weekly layout over and over again, only the dates change. This is considered low-content because you’re not writing or creating a bunch to publish the book. With contentless books, this can be just a single page and has zero repetition of text.

Publishing Your Book On Amazon KDP
People are making thousands of dollars in passive income every month selling blank books on Amazon. – I received $4,333 in royalties. I am making a decent income every month. – which is making $78,000 a month on Amazon KDP. Today, I want to test this by creating and selling my own low-content book I set myself three rules I am not allowed to write a single sentence in the book.
Two, I have to do everything on my laptop. And thirdly, I have to finish it in less than an hour. The first thing on my list is finding easy-to-use software. So I’m just going to log into Book Bolt because it seems the easiest for someone with no computer design skills. OK, so now we have to decide what kind of selling blank books on Amazon we want to sell. There are many different low-content books such as notebooks, journals, and diaries.
But instead of just guessing, I’m going to use the Book Bolts Research tab to find out what’s actually popular. After searching the products and keywords, it seems planners sell very well.Â
Do These Amazon Marketers Make Money?
Obviously, I set myself a bit of a challenge to do this as quickly as possible; however, you can spend as much time as you want to research and find gaps to dominate the market. It should be good all year round, as it is not seasonal like the 2023 New Year planner and will not get old.
There are also many other evergreen book options such as manifesting, prayer, and dream journals It’s probably a smart idea to make sure the selling blank books on Amazonyou sell has high search volume, low competition, and high monthly sales.
Having said that, there are many competing products when it comes to selling planners But I know from my many years in the business that high competition in the market does not mean that you cannot sell It may cost us some sales initially.
Because we don’t have the same trust and sales history as others, but once we get the ball rolling, then we’re in business because there’s obviously a huge market. Next, let’s create the cover.Â
Choosing The Right Type Of Book To Sell
I’m going to name my project a daily planner to keep it simple. I’m going to use the standard 6×9 paperback size and leave the bleed option on for best results. Since this is a yearly planner, I will make it 365 pages long If you produce a different type Selling blank books on Amazon, it may be better to keep it short, around one hundred pages, to reduce printing costs and improve your profits.
As you can see, we have two sides. Now we need to add some personality to this front cover. If you do this too, be sure to avoid copyrighted photos, as you can’t use them legally. By clicking on this image icon, it actually brings up Pixelbay, which has thousands of copyright- and royalty-free images that we can use on our covers.
I’ll be honest, instead of using a fancy picture, I’d go with a black minimalistic feel with my journal. So I’m going to drag this dark background to fit the cover. I’m even going to stretch it a bit over the edges to make sure it’s printed correctly because the last thing we want is a lot of refunds.Â
Creating The Inside Of Your Book
To further promote sales, it is a good idea to create a brand for these books Thus, if one book sells well, customers may recognize the brand and buy others. I’ll be using the branding I’ve already created for my podcast, Strike It Big. So, I’ll write my title, and I think I can do some imagery to bring it to life Let’s see what we can find on Pixelbay Oh, this is pretty nice. Let’s drag it and see how it looks.
Obviously, this cover doesn’t have much personality, but I’m on a deadline, so you get the idea. I’m sure you could probably make it look better, but like I said, computer design isn’t my strong suit At least you know you’ll probably be better off if it sells Now we are on the inside. So, if I click on this icon and select #planner, it gives me different template options for the inside of the book.
Coming Up With Your Low-Content Book Design
It means I don’t have to write a sentence. You can make as many pages as you want, each page is the same, each page is unique, and you can do whatever you want, but as my Selling blank books on Amazon is a planner, I need to design something so that people can set their schedule and goals.
There are many different options, but I’m settling on this one and adding it to all pages because I love how it lets you plan your day by the hour. I’m always distracted by different things, so this will really help me. Actually, I think it would be nice for people to be able to make some notes, so I’m going to add a few extra pages for that.
So the inner work is pretty much done. I obviously whipped this up fairly quickly, but with some proper planning and timing, you can create a real masterpiece.
Your blog is a treasure trove of knowledge! I’m constantly amazed by the depth of your insights and the clarity of your writing. Keep up the phenomenal work!
